Anna Maria Pesavento
graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Filmmaking Arts, emphasizing on documentary film. Starting in 2002, Anna quickly gained field experience volunteering on film sets. She also produced and edited a series of short films for her portfolio. Her work in the Berlin film community and her passion for documentary films landed her an internship as the assistant to the artistic director at the Berlin Festival for Documentary Films on Art, DOKU.ARTS, in 2006, hosted by the Academy of Arts.


Anna was involved in the organizational and curatorial process of the Festival responsible for travel; accommodation and film transport logistics. She also assisted the process of researching, ordering and previewing films for the festival program. Furthermore she was frequently asked for advice in questions concerning technical problems because of her practical background and knowledge within the area of IT and broadcasting equipment. During the ongoing festival one of her many jobs was functioning as a contact person for guests and participants.

In 2007 she received the position as the production assistant prior the second edition of DOKU.ARTS responsible for organization. Additionally to her festival participation, Anna continued working as a camera operator and editor, producing corporate films and live music/event videos.

After working for DOKU.ARTS she moved to Canada and took the annual post-secondary Entertainment Business Management Program at the Vancouver Film School to broaden experience in intellectual property law, marketing, negotiations, deal-making, and financial strategies. 

Additionally Anna took the great opportunity and gained more and more recognition shooting corporate films, artists and event videos all over the west coast area. 

Coming back to her beloved city Berlin in late 2008 she continues  working as a freelance videographer focusing on new media and alternative distribution platforms.

From January to May 2009 she took part in the post-production process of a long-term documentary film produced for german television assisting the editor and producer. 

In November 2009 she works as the cinematographer of the documentary film production "Berlin in November", produced and directed by Victor Schefé. 

Starting in December the postproduction process continues where Anna operates as the editor.
